Other common fish you might find in Lake Isabella are Bluegills, Carp, Sucker Fish (mostly in the river) and Squawfish or Pikeminnows (for those who are politically correct).

Carp
As with most lakes, we have our share of Carp. Another giant bottom feeding fish.

All sucker fish references in the California Fishing Regulations indicate all sucker fish should be immediately released.
Squawfish or Pikeminnow
Squawfish are abundant in Lake Isabella and the lower Kern River. They grow huge and look like the ugly cousin of the Northern Pike
